EC2 Honeypots
You asked, we listened! After several requests from our customers, our honeypots are now deployable directly to EC2, using CloudFormation. We standup a new (micro) instance, and configure it as the honeypot personality of your choice (read more about personalities here).
These deception assets record the full signal of all interactions, and raise events & alerts in the same way as the rest of our seeds. Alerts Marketplace
As we add more integrations, we wanted to make sure the user experience was presenting this vital are of our platform in the best way possible for our users.
So, we’ve built a marketplace! more alert integration will get added regularly (if you want a specific one, let me know, support@seedata.io). Plus, we’re going to use the same marketplace pattern for our forthcoming seeds marketplace.

Honeypot Personalities
Deception assets should be deceptive! Sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how many tools in our category produce decoys that scream “I’m a honeypot!”
Our infrastructure seeds (honeypots that can be deployed as Virtual Machines or cloud-native instances) can be configured to have the device personality of your choice, independent of the actual device type thats being deployed… So, plant a Linux Ubuntu asset that responds like an Active Directory Domain Controller, or a FreeNAS storage appliance, or Cisco 2950 switch.

What else have we been up to?

- New Documentation site: We’ve moved all user support documentation to https://docs.seedata.io.
- Signals : You can now see each individual network request made within an event, recorded as a raw “signal”. Read more here.
- Partnership with Armura: We’ve teamed up with Italian Cybersecurity experts, Armura, to put our platform in the hands of their customers. Read more here.
- Recruiting : We’re always looking for those rare people who’ve built cyber deception platforms before. If you’re awesome, we want you!
What next?
- More Cloud Native Assets : We’re now working on S3 buckets, IAM accounts, Secrets, RDS databases and Lambda, as deception assets
- Seeds Marketplace : If it’s good enough for alerts, it’s good enough for seeds!
